6 1/2 Weeks

Do I look bigger for my one-month picture?  I'm pretty sure mom took it about one week late.  Anyway...I am starting to pack on the lbs and developing a littly belly and leg rolls!!!  Oh, the horror.  Mom says this is totally normal and that I am supposed to be getting chubby.  So, every month we are gonna take pictures on the Aggie blanket in a white onsie to compare -

Both Mommy and me had doctor's appointments this week.  Meet the lovely lady that delivered me!  I happened to sleep right through it because that darn stroller is like a sleeping pill for me :-)
At my appointment, I grew an entire inch and weighed in at 8 lbs and 10 ounces.  Mom also took me to her Manhattan Mommy Group this week.  They went on and on about sleep and making me sleep for 12 hrs straight?  No eating in the middle of the night?  Hmmmm...not sure about that

Jillian came to visit last week and watched me while Mommy was at work.  It is starting to get warm outside and we all walked down to the water.  I get to see Jill again next week when Mommy takes me to Texas!  I'm looking forward to the plane ride :-)

Here is me snoozing away on our walk.  That little giraffe just makes me happy!  And the blankets.  And the pacifer.  I'm in my happy place!!!!

There were a lot of costume changes this week.  Thus the camo outfit and then the Cowboys shirt.  Mom has already explained to me that I am absolutely to be a Cowboys fan and that we hate the Eagles and the Giants ?

Well - see you guys later!

Videos

I watched the Grammys with Mom last week.  She keeps trying to make me a Justin Beiber fan.....

Ok, not sure who would want to watch me sleeping but mom thought it was pretty funny at 3am!!

One month birthday

My life outside the womb marked one month yesterday.  Its still up in the air which world I like best.  Mom says it will get much more exciting when Spring is here and I am a bit bigger.  Speaking of bigger, I did actually grow!  Almost one whole pound at the last doctor's visit!  Do I look chubbier????

Oh, Mom also started putting me in cloth diapers.  Very comfy and soft and much cuter than the store-bought kind.  There wouldn't be any other reason to use 'em, right????

Mom went back to work this week and Brooke has been looking after me during the week.  NOT a fan of having to eat several meals in a row from a bottle, but no one asked me my opinion.  Apparently, this might become a regular deal!  Something about bills and keeping her sanity???  Whatever....
Yes, I am a princess...at least that is what the towel says!

I'm cute right?  When I have a dry diaper and full tummy!!!!!

Not growing...

Another doctor's visit this Monday morning...apparently I am stuck at 7lbs and not gaining.  I pee, I poop, I sleep - I'm just not too excited about actually growing yet.  I like being tiny - it means I stay cute and Mommy has to do everything for me!  We did get to go shopping for new clothes for me this week.  Hahahaha, so tricky!  Mom didn't think I would be this small this long and didn't anticipate needing some many newborn clothes.

The walk to the Dr's office is nice and we got to go right past Ground Zero.  The new buildings are really starting to get big down there!

Guess that is all really for the past few days.  Since I'm not gaining weight, we haven't done much except try to eat and sleep.  Mom keeps complaining about feeling like a Jersey cow?  Not sure what that means...

More later, keeping checking in!  I gotta go get my beauty sleep!

Some Random Stuff

This week started out with another trip to the Dr and more naked time - which I am not a big fan of.  Mom likes trying to capture my funny faces.  Thank goodness the room was warm...

Well, we continue to walk outside in this horrible weather to watch the dog pee and poop twice a day.  I'm not sure why my mom is obsessed with watching this event...and then even picking up the poopy?  I swear, if I could talk I would just tell her to slap a diaper on the dog and call it a day - at least in the winter!  Geez.  It is warm and cozy all bundled up and I do like being pushed around like the princess I am.  I keep hearing how great the spring and summer is and can't wait to witness it!

That weird annoying crusty thing fell off my tummy yesterday.  So, to celebrate I got stuck in a tub of water - not the most fun ever.  Mom says its gonna be a daily occurence though.  Wonder if I can buy another dry crusty thing on e-bay to avoid the Sessums water torture?  The towel part was fun, but someone needs to point out to my mom that it completely swallowed me!

Last but not least....I unfortunately got put into a frilly pink thing.  As you can see, I was not happy about this.  The hat, shirt and socks all had this huge ATM on them.  Apparently this has something to do with being a Texas Aggie?  Well, we live in Manhattan so can't I get some NYU or Columbia gear?  And my mom keeps saying she doesn't like pink, but I keep winding up dressed in some form of this color!
Sarah came by to see me today while Mommy ran some errands.  Thanks Sarah, you rock!

Mommy & Me

Finally!  Some pictures of not just me.  We have been kinda trapped in the apartment due to weather lately.  Eating, sleeping and diaper changes.  Mom watches lots of silly shows, so I'm gonna have to talk to her about that!  We walk the dog twice a day so I can get some fresh air which I really love.  The stroller seems to put me asleep though and I always miss the end of the walks!

So, I already got to try on my Valentine's Day outfit.  It seems to fit great - Mom even posed with me in her red t-shirt.  I guess I need to work on looking at the camera...

More cuddle time!

The doctor says I need to gain more weight, so I'm off to eat again.  I'll let everyone know when we do something fun!

Let it Snow!!!

Mom says it has been snowing on and off all week.  I guess I wouldn't know, as I seem to sleep through all my ventures outside the apartment.  Nobie loves the snow though and appreciates her walks around the neighborhood.  Our building is above - on the 20th floor, left side.  Aunt Angie has been watching me snooze away while Noble and Mommy walk around in the snow.  Well, I guess this picture was taken in my 15 minutes of awake time on the couch :-)

Thursday was my first ride on the NYC subway in my stroller.  Mommy says that carrying my stroller up and down the subway stairs was kinda annoying.  So, yesterday we went out in my Moby sling.  I loved it and fell asleep as soon as she put me in it!  I'll have to get Mommy to take more pictures of me and her - she is camera happy when its just me for some reason.  As you can tell below -

Mommy says that Jillian specifically asked that I be put in a bow.  Well, - Jill got her wish.  Not sure who told Mom to put me in a pink sweat suit though, Geez!

----------------->>>>>So, apparently I look like a Cabbage Patch Kid to some people I know.  Not sure I see the resemblence?!  I guess you can decide.  Maybe it's the cheeks??

Below is my favorite pic so far.  The blanket is sooo super comfy and
I think that Maroon & White look good on me!  Gig 'Em Aggies is what Mom says!

NYC Cab Ride

Thanks to Danielle for catching my first cab ride on video! We took a yellow cab to the Doctor on Monday and then again yesterday to the photographer. I love them, they rock me to sleep. Of course, Mommy doesn't like it when I sleep all day because I am up all night. Serves her right for having me in the City That Never Sleeps :-)

Just some pics

Mom wanted me to put up some pics from the last week that apparently are too cute for words. I'll try to continue to update every few days between naps, eating and pooping. Geez, I'm so busy!!!

Just me snoozing away....

My First Week

Hello Cyperspace! Mommy says I should start a blog to share everything that is new to me with all her friends, family and future Scarlett fans. So, here we are...I came into the world on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 weighing in at 7 lbs 8 ozs and 20.5 inches long at 6:04pm. I was born in New York Downtown Hospital right under the Brooklyn Bridge in Lower Manhattan. Uncle Ryan flew up for the big day at the last minute and stayed with us in the hospital and then for a few days when we got home. Mommy only cried twice the night he left :-0

So, I am living in a one-bedroom apartment on Wall St for now - But Mommy promises I get my own room when I am a bit bigger and her lease is up. We cohabit with two cats and one dog, all of who seem to just ignore me! I already had my first dinner out in five degree weather last Saturday night with Mommy and Uncle Ryan. Mexican food, of course (and she wonders why I kept her up all night on Saturday).

Monday was another day of firsts - my first walk in the snow with Nobie, my first cab ride and my first doctor's appointment. Between me and you, I think Mommy picked Tribeca Pediatrics just so she'll have an excuse to visit the neighborhood more often! And, yes - I WAS NOT happy with getting naked in front of a stranger to weigh myself. Ugh! The doctor says I am perfect so far and wants us to come back next week for another weigh-in; I'll keep everyone posted.

Last night Aunt Angie flew in to stay for the next week. Today we went to my first photo shoot and the photographer was amazed at my beauty and poise at only one week old. Well, duh! Mommy signed a relase so they could use me in their ads, on-line etc. So, I TOTALLY count that as my first modeling job, even if it wasn't paid. They're also gonna do my birth announcements so everyone will be able to get a peek at my awesome pics! Classic Kids, Upper East Side - I highly recommend them!

From there we went for lunch at Lexington Candy Shop, a small old diner that was recommended for the greasy burgers and milkshakes. There, I had my first celebrity sighting - Matt Dillon. How cute he was, and his voice is to die for. That was worth braving the snow for!

Well, I guess that about sums up my first week. Look out NYC, Scarlett is here! And yes, Mommy named me after Scarlett O'Hara and Dennison after PaPa Ray. A big shout-out to all my visitors so far:
1. Uncle Ryan 2. Melinda 3. Amy 4. Dorie & David 5. Katie 6. Danielle 7. Laura 8. Aunt Angie and I can't forget 9. Liz & Frank who drove me home from the hospital.
